Do You Really Need a Guide For FarmVille?

I consider myself to be relatively well educated in the latest generation of social networking site games like Mafia Wars, Vampire Wars, and such. That's why when I started to see these FarmVille guides popping up all over the place I was kind of surprised. I mean, I can see why people might need some tips to get going in games like Mafia Wars, but FarmVille?
At this point though I hadn't actually played the game, but I didn't really think it could be all that complicated. I figured I should give it a shot though, just so that I could say I knew what I was talking about. And I was in for a rather big surprise. In no time, I was out of money and had no crops to plant. I have to admit, there way more to this game than I had anticipated.
I eventually managed to dig myself out of my original hole and out of the red, but I still wasn't making all that much progress. I started to think that maybe I needed to see what these guides were all about. I wasn't really expecting much, but since I hadn't done so well on my own either, I figured it was worth a shot.
So I picked up a guide called FarmVille secrets, and was pleasantly surprised by the tips I found in it. You wouldn't think there were so many ways you could screw up a virtual farm, but believe me, you can. I was still stumbling along at level 6 when I got the guide after 2 weeks of playing regularly. Now I'm the proud owner of a plantation and a level 26 Sultan of Soil. And I still look back at my guide from time to time. If you're having trouble getting into the swing of things in FarmVille, this guide is not a bad investment.

|9) If you have a particular layer style that you use often you can have that style saved to be displayed in your layers palette. In the Blending Options, find "Save Style" located just under OK and Cancel. Name your style, save it and now notice how it will be found in the Styles palette. One note however, the style must be in its own layer.
10) Sometimes when you combine multiple images, there will be a bit of fringe around the edges of the composite images. To hide this, follow steps Layers > Matting > Defringe. From the dialogue box, choose the default setting; it that doesn't work, undo it, and try Defringe again at a setting of 2.
11) If you have too many layers, simply select the right layer by using the move tool (V). Right click the mouse over the layer and a drop down list will appear.
On the other hand, you can allocate your layers into layer sets. On the bottom of your layers palette, click the 'create new layers set' (looks like a folder), name the new layer set, and just drag the layers you like in that set. Highlight the set right click and choose copy to copy your sets with ease.
12) Press Shift-Command-M (Mac)/ Shift-Control-M (PC) to toggle between Photoshop and ImageReady.
13) To reach the Save for Web dialogue swiftly, press Shift-Command-Option-S (Mac)/ Shift-Control-Alt-S (PC).
14) To duplicate your current layer, press Cmd/Ctrl J.
15) To bring up the Extract dialogue box, press Command-Option-X (Mac)/ Control-Alt-X (PC). Within the Extract dialogue box, switch to the Extract Edge Highlighter tool by pressing the letter "b.", the Fill tool by pressing the letter "k.", and change the Edge Highlighter's brush size by holding the ] key to make it larger and the [ to make it smaller.

The beauty of layers is that if you decide for instance that you don't want a sunset and you would rather have an image of a beach you can simply delete the sunset layer and add an a new layer for the beach image without disturbing the background or the text layer.
Working in Photoshop with layers allows you to experiment without fear of damaging your original image. Layers also allow the user to make changes without disrupting other elements of the image.

Is CityVille Secrets The Real Deal?
| Now I have to admit, CityVille seems like a pretty straight forward and easy game at the beginning. I've always wondered why so people spend money on these guides. How hard could it be to build a virtual city? But as I went into the higher levels, It was a constant struggle to get more coins and cash to build things to keep my population happy. And leveling up wasn't as easy as the lower levels.
There were just so many options and ways to play the game. I tried a bit of everything which did not help me progress any faster. It was getting to the point where I almost gave up on the game. Then I thought, since I have already spent money buying City Cash, why not try out one of these guides. I did some business and purchased CityVille Secrets by Tony 'Tdub' Sanders.
It all changed from there. I no longer buy coins and cash to play the game. In fact, I am progressing faster than I was before. Leveling up seems easy now. The burn, and sponge tools are hidden under the dodge tool in the toolbox. If one of these was used last, it will be on top, and the dodge tool will be hidden. To find it, click on the tool which is showing, and choose the one you want from the pop-up menu.
The dodge tool will lighten the pixels dragged over according to the percentage chosen in the tool's options bar [see below]. You can choose to lighten highlights, midtones, or shadows. Each must be worked on separately; the tool does not work on all three at once.
To use the dodge tool, select it in the toolbox, choose your settings in the options bar, pick a brush from the pop-up palette, and drag in the image to lighten the chosen tones. This tool has an effect on click, but does not do any additional work until it's moved (unless you click the airbrush button). However, repeated stroking over the same area does have a cumulative effect.
If you choose Edit > Fade immediately after using this tool, you can change the opacity of the strokes you have just applied.
A shortcut for changing brush sizes while using this tool is to press the left bracket [ to decrease brush size, and the right bracket ] to choose a larger brush. Shift-right-clicking on your document while using this tool will open its Range menu next to your cursor.
Note that these tools cannot be used on 1 bit Bitmap mode, or Indexed color mode images.

What Is The Clone Stamp Tool?

The Cloning Stamp Tool does exactly what its name implies. Using this tool, you can copy a portion of an image and reapply it repeatedly to cover an unwanted portion of the image. The example below shows a telephone pole in the original image; the Clone Stamp Tool enabled us to cover the telephone pole with the surrounding grass, weeds and sky and create a new image that does not contain the telephone pole.
To use the cloning stamp:
1) Select the Clone Stamp Tool from the toolbox.
2) On the Options bar across the top of the screen, select the brush size and type of brush you want to use:
(Click the arrow on the upper right corner of the brush palette to see a menu for extended brush options.)
3) Move the cursor over the image to the area you would like to reproduce elsewhere.
4) Hold down the Alt key and click to select the area to clone from.
5) When you release the mouse, the brush will appear on the image in the shape of the brush selected. Crosshairs will appear over the area to be reproduced and move with the brush.
6) Click repeatedly or drag the mouse to reproduce the pattern.
Tip: the Clone Stamp Tool is easier to use when you zoom in on the desired area. Also, work with small sections at a time in order to create a more realistic-looking image.

They all contribute in the long run to obsesity and other chronic diseases associated with poor nutrition. This is why when someone comes up with a set of healthy food alternatives we should all take notice, rather than continue to be lazy like I am. I am going to suffer the consequences of my actions, I have no doubt. But that does not mean that you need to do the same.
